Untitled Antarctica

Installation by arts co-founder Melissa f. Clarke

untitled antarctica is a generative installation that includes glass, wood, video sculpture, and sound. The content of the installation is based on underwater terrain data, acoustic imaging, single channel and multi-channel imaging of the glacier carved earth beneath the ice. Custom software generatively alters sound using data mapped to frequencies and other sound generating means. The video is also generated through the software, algorithmically compositing visual acoustic imaging data over time. Using computer vision, the visuals shapeshift as the software learns patterns and applies them to the images quickly being fed to it.
